If you couldn’t play your main anymore, what class would you be?

  2. As someone who didnt really pick a main until warlords i have a pretty even grasp. the answer is… fucked if i know… 🙂
    When i started playing in burning crusade my first toon was a warlock loved her but didnt really learn much on her past leveling.
    Then i leveled a shadow priest, this is what i class as my first main. she raided ssc/tk & i had a blast on her.
    By the end of BC i had 1 of each class at 70 & so my altoholicism began.

    Then Wrath hit.
    So i started as a druid tank main. sure i had leveled everything else & was raiding on 6 toons each week but he was the goto character until about 6 months into the ICC content drought & for the life of him he couldnt get a icc weapon, he was stuck using a TOC staff. it frustrated me sooo much i played him less & less.

    The Cataclysm dropped.
    I still had the sour taste from the bear not getting gear that i chose to main a tanking DK. The big change happened in that not all specs were going to be viable tanks like they were in wrath so my little DK tanked everything there was with a frost OS. she was a lot of fun.

    Then MOP hit.
    I planned to go back to druid because i missed that tanking style BUT in MOP they changed tanking so every tank was a active mitigation tank. & the bear tanks were bad at the start of mop, like really really bad.
    so she got parked & i thought i would switch to my trusty Dk but still the same thing happened. I couldnt get around the tanking changes so then i switched again to the hunter.
    she was already leveled so the change wasnt hard.

    Then Warlords came along.
    I pretty much stayed on the hunter, I raided all the tiers with her, sure i leveled other toons but the call of the hunter hit.

    And now we have Legion
    Im still on the hunter BUT i feel the itch of change again. BUT i feel locked in with the artifact weapon/class hall/pvp prestiege leveling. too much hard work has gone in to think about switching again.

    i have a DH at 106 & its playstyle reminds me of the hunter of old, spamming buttons & the playstyle is build it up , spend it all. ABC (always be casting)

    so the long way round, If i had known 6 months ago what i know now i would be playing a DH.

    sorry for the ramble LOL

    1. No need to apologise – that’s why we have these topics!

      I hope what I say doesn’t sound offensive! But to me it sounds like none of the classes so far have really hit that spot with you like they have for me as a shaman or Z as a druid, and so for you, your preferred class comes down to game play above all else, and if the game play isn’t engaging for you, you look for something that might hit that spot. Which is absolutely fair enough and I think it’s a situation a lot of people are in (maybe the majority! Maybe Z and I are the minority here!).

      I will say this – if you have the itch to change mains right now and you think your Demon Hunter might fit that, I say go for it. The artifact knowledge boost to 20 straight away is AMAZING and makes a huge difference (especially if you boost it to 20 before starting the suramar opening stuff). The PVP prestige levelling is a different matter entirely, though, so I feel you on that one. But maybe it’s worthwhile tinkering with your DH for a couple of days and seeing if you like it. It only takes a couple of worls quests to get a whole bunch of your artifact traits, so it’ll give you a good indication of how it’ll feel.
